Review
Pros:
- This board looks fantastic! The online pictures make the PCI-E slots look white, but they're actually reflective metal shielding. The layout as far as bridge heat-sinks and placement is almost identical to the UD series.
- M.2 PCI-E NVMe slot! This is really cool. Up to 20 Gb/s transfers! (Can also be used with SATA M.2 drives.)
- The red ambient LEDs are cool, but not super-relevant in my case (no case window), and you can turn them off.
- The included "G Connector" is a nice touch. You place all your case button and LED connectors into the connector to form one connector to plug into the mobo.
- It has a power button on the motherboard! Kind of random, but I love it.
- The USB 3.1 ports are nice.
Cons:
- No PCI slots. This isn't a huge complaint, and it is marketed as a gaming board, so I can understand not having older connectivity options, but it's something to note for people who may still have an older card laying around.
- I'd like to have seen more PWM fan headers, but this seems to be a GIGABYTE standard (Two PWM, Two 3-pin).
Other Thoughts:
I switched from a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard, which has been in my system since I built it
